Look At Me
By Kanga

They say she is tough
She wants someone to lean on
They say she can face anything
She doesn't want to face another thing
They say she has everything
She would give it up to feel safe again

Her children call to her
She wants to run
Her husband NEEDS her
She wants not to be needed
Her friends say hell she will make it
She knows how close she is to not...

She wants to feel freedom and safety again
To run though the long grass in bare feet
Without fear of being cut
To walk close to someone without them needing
To fall into someone’s arms without fear
To have someone reach out and tell me it is all right

Wanting to let go and be weak
Without letting other know
To be a lady taken care of
Instead of a roll model for her friends
I want to scream look at me…..
I really am loosing my mind

I want to run off a cliff knowing someone to catch me
I want to be able to trust
I want to feel safe for once in my life
I want to be held without expectations of sex
I want to let everyone know I am a woman
I want to feel there is no expectations of me

Look at me, I am tuff but sometimes I DON’T want to have to be
