Two Long Shadowed

It's deep within
I know it's there
Hidden deep within the black
Waiting to arise
Ignorance forced it's hiding
My difference forced their ignorance
Safe at times
But left broken when it fails
Protected too long from exposure
I've worn the excuse
'Til little remains
The time has run short
And to it I am dependent
For release
Don't fail me.
